I have been looking into the aftermarket wheel options and I will share with you what I have learned but unfortunately it may not be particularly helpful. In talking to several wheel dealers, I have found that there can be a fit issue in standard offset sizes around the brakes, even in the 20 inch wheel sizes. For example, I thought the 20 inch HRE Flowform wheels would be a good option, but surprisingly only the new 21 inch version will work which is a no go for a winter option for me. That then pushes you into a custom wheel in the rotary/flow formed category in the $500 range where you can determine the offsets you need. One dealer recommended Vertini and Stance wheels (may be the same company) as you can have them made to your specific offset. I didn't get too far into that but suspect it would probably take several weeks so you would have to hold out on the weather. A couple of those wheel styles look pretty good. While only my perspective, I had a poorer experience with rotary formed wheels as my winter set on my E63 as I had several cracked wheels on smaller diameter 18 inch wheels (a different but prominent manufacturer). On the same roads with two different sets of 19 inch forged wheels I never had an issue. I was willingly to give the HRE versions a shot given how reputable HRE is. In the end, I decided to purchase an OEM set of the 20 inch Competition Package wheels for the winter set. They are a bit more more than the OEM 19 inch square package but neither set is in the $500 per wheel range anyway. I will likely do the 275s front and 285s rears to match stock sizes when my wheels come in which will be in about 2 weeks or so. While a matter of personal preference, since I will have the winter set on for roughly 5 months of the year (this is when the Southern state forum members chuckle at us) and I prefer a good look year round. Good luck on your search. Happy to pass on any more details if that would be helpful. Kind regards |

This pushes me further toward just putting snows on my OE 19” rims. Seeing as I only got 5k miles out the rears I likely will be remounting new summers each year, so not a big deal to me. Thanks again. |

ive given you multiple examples of 19s and CCBs, and you rebuttal that 20s are standard on UK cars doesn't change the fact that 19s fit. UK cars can buy OEM 19 winter packages as per the item numbers repeatedly state in this thread.

Does this caliper and Disk look like it would be OK with a 19" wheel?. The caliper is less than a 1/3 of an inch away from the wheel!! Perhaps our European CCB disks are much bigger than yours.

Another option would be to buy a set of the 20 inch black wheels that are posted on EBay currently at a more reasonable price. Third option would be to have the snow tires mounted to your existing wheels and swap them out again in the spring. Greater risk to the tires but a reputable shop should be able to handle that well enough. Let me know what you decide to do. We have at least several more weeks here before I really have to worry about not having winter tires on yet. |

Jensputzier:
Did you go with the 285/35/20 tires front and rear for the Michelin PA4s? I love the Michelin PA4s but they don't come in the 275 width front size. The Pirelli's do, which are fine but not as nice as the Michelins. Wondering which would be better, using the OEM staggered sizes front and rear (275s front and 285s rear) with the Pirellis or go with the 285s all around with the Michelins. Thanks! |

Thank you so much for that information!!! I had no idea that the 275’s were available in Europe but not in the United States. That’s really interesting. Knowing that, I’ve done an Internet search and found what looks like a couple of ways to get those front tires to me. I really like the Michelins so much more than any other winter tire I’ve owned (Pirellis and Blizzaks) that I will work hard to get them. Thanks! |

That is really a kind offer - thank you so much! I will see if I am able to get the front tires in a more conventional way first before I bother you. I have another two weeks to wait on my winter wheels so I have a little time to look around. Kind regards |
