Yeah, I agree. I only see bench racers ever use bhp, so I didn't expect it to be used. Lol

Sounds good - let's make this happen.

WHP sort of works because the output speed of a gearbox or final drive changes opposite the torque increase by the same factor, so it cancels basically. What most people call WTQ is very badly named because it's actually estimated crank torque without correction. It doesn't take into account final drive ratio and wheel diameter (first gear actual wheel torque is a huge number for most cars, for example). Yeah we all know what it means, but I can understand why Europeans would finish back-calculating all the way to the crank even though the drivetrain loss is just a guess. |

Maybe B58 cannot meet the particulate levels needed even with OPF without that change in tune. |

I don't know why so many people are confused by this:
BHP - crank horsepower. Could be measured by engine dyno or calculated from WHP by adding approx 15% WHP - measured by roller dyno like Dynojet or Mustang. There is so much room for bending the numbers. Drivetrain loss is just estimated. Some people use 20%, some use 15%. The weight of the roller drum makes a difference. Dynojet typically reads higher. Then there are corrections. Not every dyno operator uses them correctly. A 300 whp car can pull 330 on a cold day and 270 on very hot day. Uncorrected numbers should never be used but often are. One time I got a pull done and the numbers were about 10% more than I expected. The operator said he had the Mustang dyno in "Dynojet emulation mode" so it read higher. So after all that experience I really stopped caring about dyno charts. When I do something to the car I dyno it at the same shop and try to pick a day with similar weather so the corrections would also be similar. |

I bought the M2C from BMW of Barrington on Wednesday and already have over 900 miles on it! Awesome car, and a fantastic dealer experience there. It sure was nice to get away from the oppressive humidity for a day on the trip up there. Another 7+ days of mid to upper 80s and humid coming here. Can't wait for fall weather.

I was going to this morning but I got called for work at 1am (on call week...grrr...) and didn't get back to bed until 3. Grr. Grr. Grr. I have friends coming over today, so my Saturday morning plan for a fun drive is blown.

M2C getting strapped to the dyno now, I'll update the thread after the weekend with dynojet results.

Don't think so, getting last of the cosmetic pieces installed and then dyno time. 1200mi service just completed.
