I, like many others here, have cross shopped the RS6 to the M5 twice now.
I didn’t need this article to affirm I made the right choice (twice!) but it was nice to see. Of course, straight line power and 1/4 mile times aren’t everything, but here you go: https://www.bmwblog.com/2023/03/23/b...uned-audi-rs6/

I have had both tuned. Currently still have the RS7. Stock vs stock it’s not close. Tunes really wake the RS7 up. My Unitronic tuned RS7 is running quicker 60-130s than my racechip F90 did. But mod for mod the F90 takes it everytime. They both have pros and cons but both are fantastic cars.

No it was just a piggyback vs RS7 with full tune. Had F90 had full tune it would have been quicker. I was nervous about doing full tune on F90 because of horror stories when trying to push the limits.

I feel you. I am also running RC. Moderate, but safe gains, and I think the ROI is fantastic. Great bang for your buck mod, especially when leasing!

And that M5 has sport cat downpipes. The owner of the M5 has a IG, and has mentioned that the car has that particular mod. Additionally there he lied that the RS6 is the performance version running Stage 2🤣 |

USA RS6 are wagons, which are heavier and weight saps performance. That is not really a fair comparison. The tests I have seen show the USA RS6 more than 5 mph slower in the quarter mile. The M5 will walk away from the RS6. There is a new model sold here that is a Performance version of the RS6 and while it is a little faster than the standard one, it still is not as fast as an M5. The current model M5 is now out of production and my guess is the next model will be heavier and not any faster and maybe even slower. There will be a wagon version in the USA and maybe that can be compared to the RS6 wagon. There is also a Mercedes AMG wagon that should be compared.
