Cool valet story
Last Friday the wife and I drove to Marina Del Rey to have dinner with her relatives. I had checked before and found out the restaurant was valet only so I told my wife we needed to take the M2 and not her CX-5.
When I rolled up to the valet, I asked the guy for the ticket and he said not to worry because they were just going to park it up front (where all the cool cars go, of course). Best part of the story was the valet cost $12 but when I went to go home they didn't charge me. I still gave the guy a very good tip. Gotta love these cars! |

That conversation would have gone the other way in my house. I don't think I will ever let a valet drive my car, but I have seen some pretty stoked valet drivers in our cars on dashcam vids. Brave of you in LA of all places. This does give me hope however that I will have the trust one day.

I usually avoid valet if at all possible. Parking garages etc. too. I'm not that afraid they will joyride or destroy the car, but I just prefer not to leave things in the hands of very poorly paid employees. My growing concern is if anyone even knows how to drive a manual anymore.

You guys generally want to avoid valets. Let’s just leave it at that. |

Rad to get the nod to shine up front but it’s a chance I’ll never take. Beater 4Runner takes that bullet for our household.

Maybe if I knew beforehand that they's move it 10 feet only, I MAY consider it. I know the M2 is not the fanciest, priciest car, but its my most beloved! |

Nothing wrong with telling them that you want it parked up in front too. |

I try to avoid valet at all costs but couldn't find a spot for the life of me the other night, nonetheless, the young valet guy who brought my car back was drooling over it saying how much he loved it which was cool to hear considering a white M2 is pretty under the radar in LA. This was at Holloway House in West Hollywood.

I was staying at the Langham in Pasadena recently and when the Valet was pulling up my car with the windows up I could here the guy shout, "I LOVE THIS CAR!".

I see most of your points regarding not wanting to valet a car, but I've always done it with every vehicle I've owned. I've never had a problem and cars have been well taken care of.
I may change my tune if something happens, but I also very rarely even use valets because I don't go to fancy places often. |
