2018 M5 Break-In Service
2018 F90, just a regular M5 not competition or CS.
Sorry if this is something obvious, but we just got the full service details from the dealer where we have always gone to, and there is no record of any "break-in" service. What have we lost or does this matter? Thanks |

Yeh reading forums here , bmw appear to very strict about that 1200 mile service , not much tolerance of being either side.
Dealer should be able to check if it's had it , let's hope so and for reasons unknown, the idrive was not updated |

As above, should have no trouble getting a complete review of service if done at any BMW shop. If for some odd reason the 'break in service' was not done, you need to get that oil in the differential changed STAT. and the front and rear use a different oil so make sure they use the right stuff.

Well, coverage specific to the engine and diff for any remaining warranty at least.

My 18 M5 came back after new tire installation with the rear wheels on the front and the fronts on the rear. Always double check. Always. Shawn |

This is what I meant with my post above. Just because they checked off that a CPO was done doesn't mean anyone looked too closely at the car. As with anything, caveat emptor.
