Cadillac using M5 Competition to test the new CTS-V?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...r-sale-150000/ I mention as I am sure there is a high performance Caddy SUV in the works. I read something about better engine selections for the Escalade. I bet they put up against X5/X6M. |

OP, new competitor of the M5 is the CT5, no longer the CTS (and the V part is questionable for the name currently, as its rumored to be titled Blackwing despite not actually using the Blackwing engine) and is not either of those cars in the images. The cars in the images posted are CT4-V's, which are competitors to the "M-Performance" line, possibly with the 2 or 3 series, as the CT4 is a tweener vehicle in price/size. V is moving downmarket for a new brand (possibly Blackwing) to take its place.
Here is some information about the upcoming M competitors from Cadillac. https://www.motor1.com/news/360643/c...upecharged-v8/ |

I wanted a CTS-V soooo bad, but their infotaiment system, with that nasty ass plastic touch panel shit was just a NO-GO for me. I really hope they get rid of that cheap-ass shit from the interior. I'll only take a second look then. Best of luck, Caddy.

Expect this for the CT5-Blackwing? - whatever they call it, but with more carbon fiber, and some Recaro's and a rumored 6-Speed Manual |

Man the CT5 is ugly. The attempt at a boxy sport back just didn't work at all. And for some reason the wheels look way too small to me. They look like they're 10's.
The CT6 is better, but I wouldn't consider anything in their car lineup good looking. |

It certainly wouldn't surprise me. My dad just upgraded his f10 M5 to a 2020 M5comp and I am speechless at how fantastic the car is. Haven't felt the true power since it's not broken in yet but the sound of the comp is just hilariously fun. You can even set the car to super sport and open the valves before turning the car on which makes for a symphonic engine start up. What makes the car truly amazing is the the drastic change from comfort to sport plus. Clicking it into comfort turns it into an extremely comfortable and quiet 5 series. I am shocked at the comfort of the competition. Simply amazing car to drive and sets the bar high.

I just googled the interior of the CT5. MUCH better. I'm now really interested in seeing what they do with the V8 CT5-V, interior wise.

I wouldnt trust cadillac.. had a 2015 escalade right when it came out, biggest pile of shit in terms of quality / finishes.. On the other hand, I loved the exterior design and of course the space. I doubt much has improved for 2021..

You should check out the new 2021 Escalade that debuted couple days ago. It has a 38in curved OLED, first OLED in any production car. Looks amazing.

GM can benchmark BMW all they want, but the CT5 will suffer the same fate on the market the CTS did. There are no customers for a high performance Cadillac; they won't poach German buyers nor retain Cadillac people.

If you have tried the previous CUE system paired with the touch sensative controls, as found in the previous CTS and ATS, this is very well indeed a huge upgrade from the CTS. But like I said in my original post, materials and build quality will still be typical GM (otherwise known as below average) but the tech at least, is 100% an upgrade from the CTS. It is actually a bearable interior now Would it be my first choice? Hell no! But I could easily live with it as long as the seats, chassis, and steering is as good as the last CTS-V and ATS-V and if they gave it a manual. Never said it was amazing, but its definitely better than the CTS. |

It's a shame that Blackwing TT looks to be on the chopping block. Seems like a fitting modern day Northstar. The LT2 in the new vette is still a pushrod 2 valve v8. Yikes.

While I agree with you completely, I'm very concerned that BMW is trying to compete with and catch up to Cadillac's ugly design language. The new, huge grill phenomenon on their vehicles and the even worse front ends on the 4-series/M3/M4 indicate they will surpass Cadillac soon. SMH. Fortunately, BMW build quality is better.

Not at all... as amazing as it is; it is NOT a class above the new caddy's. If you knew how many parts the m5 shares with the plain old 3 series you'd be shocked.
