??? lifter??? engine noise loud at start up??
Ive owned 2018 M5 f90 since delivered to dealership. Never noticed probably for the first half of the year until it got colder now makes noise loud at start up but constant everyday. Dealership thee 2 new high velocity fuel pumps in it and did nothing. They say normal according to BMW regional rep but still looking into it along with multiple other complaints that never get resilved which inhave read about throughout the forum by many.
Maybe someone can help ? I’ll try and attach a sound clip? Almost sounds like a diesel

I just had mine at the dealer for something similar. My '21 has made loud random ticking noise in addition to the standard loud ticking at cold start. After two weeks at the shop the dealership confirmed that it was normal after sending videos to BMW engineering and compared it to 4 others that had come into the shop during that time and they all had similar ticks but the amount varied from car to car.

That’s the same results that I achieved with multiple representatives and multiple technicians as well as multiple videos submitted to Bmw. However, within the last three years that I’ve been submitting this case, they had multiple other M5s my year or newer present for other conditions, and no ticking from the engine like mine
Ive been driving Bmw since 1992 and I know how well documented cases if something goes horribly wrong later at least will be covered under warranty, which is the only saving grace So I will continue to complain
