Mileage on Display?

I've looked at the manual and search the board but found no way to display the currently mileage unless I'm in the trip mode setting. I can get the current temperature on my main display but no current mileage? Instead of having to go into the menus a quick check would be great so I know fairly quickly when oil changes, tire rotations, etc. may be coming up. Any suggestions or workarounds?

Cycle through the 4-5 instrument cluster displays using the "BC" button on the signal stalk (the thing that sticks out of the steering column that you use to turn on your turn signal). One of them (at least for me) shows mileage "since factory". If yours doesn't show "since factory" values then I believe there is a configuration setting under the config menus to make it show "since factory" (as opposed to since trip reset, or since last fill-up).

I'm aware of this I don't think I was very clear in my original post. On the main instrument cluster at the bottom the temperature, mileage until empty, etc. are constantly displayed I was wondering why the mileage "since factory" did not show up on the lower display. I understand in the trip settings using the BC button I can see it but instead of having to do that each time (I keep my current album/station art displayed) I was hoping there was a setting to add this to the lower part of the display.

I attached a picture to help. On the lower display with "Mileage to Empty", "Time" and "Temperature". I was hoping to somehow get odometer reading in this area. My 535 had it and with a quick glance I knew mileage.

Ah, gotcha. I don't think there's a way to *always* show mileage since factory in the same way that time/temp are shown. It only shows in that area when you turn the car off.

for a full digital dash, it definitely shows even less information I find than the old part digital design and has literally no customization, such a shame it can't do more - it has so much potential.

Agreed. Especially since the range information is somewhat "redundant" since it is located right below the fuel guage. The range information could have been buried in a menu under the BC stalk button with odometer on the display.

I, for one, appreciate the less is more dashboard. I mean, relevant. To add value, once you get to the mileage screen (using the top BC button) you can press-and-hold to change it to individual and other settings.

I was annoyed by this as well especially since the mileage pops up (bottom center) when you turn the vehicle off. The only other suggestion I can make is to add the tile to the iDrive control display that has the mileage info. Then it's a quick swipe away versus cycling through with the BC button.

Interesting. I tried this tip and held the BC button for about 15 seconds and the new Menu appeared.

Interesting. What all does that menu let you do? Unfortunately my X5 is still in the shop so I can't play with it.

What you show in the upper right hand corner, has always been in my display.

However, I have not seen that pop window with a menu in the center. So this came from your maneuver? What are all the choices?

Holy crap! Secret menus!!! With all the bugs and uncertainty, I'd be afraid to try something and bricking the car.

And when you do please let us all know what happens. Since you are with a dealer I suspect you can just fix it on site since I felt like AvengerBoater and I did not want to brick the car and then have to arrange to have the car towed to the dealer.

Use the BC button (upper button on stock) to get to the odometer/trip page. Once there continue to hold the BC button for about 15 seconds and the Menu shows up. Use the BC button to cycle through the pages/choices. Not sure how to turn off menu but when you turn off car and turn it back on the Menu is no longer there.

I Googled "Showroom" last night and BMW and found one Youtube video on how to turn it off but they did not explain it at all.

I thought I was following PhatBoyG's suggestion in Post #7. I wanted to see if there was a way to get odometer reading on Display. I was aware of BC button to cycle to it with trip odometer. I misread PhatBoyG's post and thought he said cycle through to get to odometer/trip page and then hold long press on BC button. When I did that the Menu appeared. Cycled through the Menu pages because I was curious but did not activate anything for fear of bricking car.
