New DSP Amp… now no sound?

Hi all,

First post from a place of frustration.

Got a base audio 335d E91. Bought a Helix Match PP62DSP with a plug n play kit from an eBay store, but can’t for the life of me get the speakers to play any sound.

It came with a quad lock head unit connector, and everything wired up fine. The amp lights work as they should, but my car then drops any internal sound like washer fluid, warning sounds, etc etc. The only sound I have is if the lights are left on (the not as loud gong). IDrive works fine, just no sound from anything.

I’ve wired it into the factory harness as the amp takes power from there and that’s how the PnP kit should work.

When I revert it all back to normal the speakers work again. I have tried the MOST BUS connector in any available slots and nothing fired up.

Any suggestions where to begin looking?

If you expected a plug & play solution you should have bought a plain simple amplifier instead.

With DSP-AMP you adjust the unit settings with computer before.
Inputs/outputs/crossovers/timing/sensitivity etc need to be set.

Should be as transparent as an amp . A dsp will not do anything but manipulate
a signal it can't discriminate between a tone and music . A head unit might as the
tones can come into or be generated at the Head Unit.

I would call Helix and see what kind of support you can get .

Is it possible the harness you have is only for vehicles with low level input? Your base HU signal is amplified at the HU.
Just trying to think of any variance that could potentially lead to this.

In the 06 year some cars had a separate gong speaker under the US driver side
dash.
