Anyone in the west in Mapping Zone CA, HI, NV receive any map update lately? I do have updates checked off for download.

My car still has 2020-4

Seems like there should have been at least one update by now?

I'm in the old Phoenix area region and still operating under 2020-4. In June my region was combined with yours and the rest of the western US. My problem is that I've been in Washington state for the past month and my maps for this area is my original map which is 2019-2. I called BMW Genius and they were absolutely worthless...couldn't even tell me what the current map version is. There seems to be no way to get my maps updated without paying the dealer $200.

So I guess BMW is cutting corners (what a shock) and releasing updates way less often than they advertise. Bad enough they remove items that they underhandedly removed and never mention it to their dealers or anywhere else.

Try signing in online to your mygarage.bmwusa.com. Then scroll down to the BMW ConnectedDrive section on the left side. Click on Settings. You'll get a menu. Select Automatic Map Update and then select the map region you want to update from the drop down menu on the right. Hit SAVE. Then play around with other things or sign out.
When you're back in your car go into Navigation settings and and select Update Map. HOPEFULLY as you drive around in that map region you'll get a Navigation Update notice.
I've been doing that by the prior smaller regions and got several updates. NONE had a 2021 date on them!

I have a 2019 G30 and after logging in to BMW ConnectedDrive in the car, I have been getting OTA map updates over the last week. Didn't realize I had free map updates until a year after ownership. The map went from 2018-4 to 2021-2 as of today. I'm in the Texas region, FYI.

I have a 2021 G05 45e and am in Texas too. Just went and checked. I still have 2020-4 as latest regional map. My NA map is 2020-2. I'll report when/if the regional updates.

Make sure you're logged into your BMW account in the car itself, not just on your computer or phone app. Only after doing so did I start to get the map update.

Thanks, I assumed that everyone logs into the car. Many things wouldn't be working without that.

How do you log into the account on the car? I may have already done it, but not sure how to check.

Set a profile picture in the MyBMW app. When you are logged into the car the picture will show up.

you have the option of setting a custom profile picture, but you don't have to. I think his point was that it provides visual confirmation you're logged in and connected/synced to your account. you can just as easily use one of the default avatars. being connected is the only way your region map stays updated.

I'm curious. have you logged into your BMW account on your vehicle. if not, why not? your 'ConnectedDrive' features won't work unless you log in (you may already be paying a fee…for nothing)

I have not been paying enough attention to these threads. I leave in a few days to drive from OK to AR, AL, GA, SC, TN.
When I go to the web, it shows the new alignment for regional maps.
When I go to the car trying to do an update, the data are quite old.

If you are using a specific Driver Profile then you should be logged in. There has been a few instances when the login was corrupted but you should get a message for that.

If you really want to verify, and not use the picture method, just change your name in your Connected Drive profile and it should show up on the Welcome screen when you get in the next time. Here is a test I did a few years ago.

Edit: Probably would be the name field under My Profile since ConnectedDrive merge with MyBMW.

Edit2: Just checked and the name field is no longer accessible and you need to call to have it changed.

How long have you had yours? There hasn’t been any updates for 2021 but you could possibly get a regional 2020-4. They only started the consolidation of regions last month so timing wise they may not be sending them out yet. Based on my testing they are also breaking some regions into smaller maps so depending on where you physically are there may not be any updates yet.

I was asking when you got it because if it was this year then that could mean there wasn't a 2020-4 update for your region. I have not been following the versions in each region especially since they consolidated them.

I’ve definitely logged into my account and vehicle shows up in My Garage. Also, the MyBMW app communicates with the vehicle, and gets updates on locations, vehicle status, etc. Plus, I’ve gotten idrive software updates.

MotomikeV80, would you post or PM me a pic of your navigation map update screen? As I said I'm in Texas too and have done updates during the 13 region time. Haven't seen any change since coming back into TX when the 4 regions started. Thanks

Update to my situation: In trying to update my Western Region maps, Yesterday I changed my region location to South and then drove around for a day. Then today I changed it back to Western (I'm in Washington State for two months). Today I started get updates to the "old" Washington State region, not the new Western Region. The updates stopped at 2020-3. They sequentially updated 2019-3, 4, 2020-1 etc. and took several hours. Does anyone in the Washington Oregon area have a map update newer than 2020-3?
