Great first experience with Route 66 Warranty

So I got the Easy Street 5 yr/100K extended warranty and never used it until now. I recently went to the dealer for the blower motor recall and they did a 32 point inspection. Found out the oil filter housing gasket was leaking and was quoted $1100. I took it to a nearby indy shop and the total of $590 was taken care of by Route 66. The shop simply called them, sent a pic of the issue, and they got paid right away. The owner was shocked how smooth it went because he was always used to dealing with hurdles and delays when working with warranty companies. Still hasn't paid for itself yet but i'll take it

I had their warranty on my N54 135i. I believe I paid 1200 for it at the time. They ended up paying out around 4-5k in repairs before I sold the car. Next owner had it transferred to them so who knows how much else they ended up paying. I've had nothing but a positive experience with them and highly recommend their warranty.

Does the Route 66 warranty work at the dealer or just Indy shops?

^^no idea but why go to the dealer and get charged way more. I read the warranty gets capped at the value of the vehicle.

If you have a warranty, then you aren’t paying. So the idea of an Indy vs dealership comes down to level of service, not cost.

As I get older, I’m more inclined to see the value of dealer service, even at a higher price point.

Well, the company stopped providing repairs for some people due to the cost of repairs exceeding the value of the car. It's definitely a possibility with some stealership prices.
