Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I guess I am asking so that when I try launch mode one day in sequential mode, all I have to do is floor the gas pedal right? Dont need to shift or do I still need to? |

I’d like to know too. I’ve gotten into the redline and shifted it myself because I couldn’t bring myself to risk it lol. It didn’t shift for me tho....maybe I didn’t wait longer enough.

No the car will not shift up automatically in manual mode. It will hold the gear and bang off the rev limiter. Only automatically shifts with launch control engaged as the launch control gear shifts are different than regular shifts. Anyone who has tried LC should know what I'm talking about-the gear changes slingshot you forward and are not like the crispy normal shifts with the exhaust "fart" (sorry new EU owners) when you upshift. The LC shifts feel pretty cool.

Manual mode u have to shift. But for instance if u are in 7th gear in manual and wanna downshift to like 3-4 just hold the downshift paddle and stomp on gas it will automatically choose the lowest available gear.
