They do, however the 4 cylinder cars have a different cluster to the 6 cylinder models. The dials are the same, but the mileage display and on board computer graphics are different.

The OP should state what model the cluster came from....

Reading description and looking to the pictures some times helps.

I wish that it was that easier to swap the odometers.
OP, when you tested it in your petrol car, there should be a 'dot' next to mileage display.

That is called 'tampering dot' which bmw has put there to avoid these swaps.
Nothing against you but thought to let you know as potential buyer will want the money back and you will loose your postage fees.

e90, came from a diesel, hardly the most thorough description.

Don't get me wrong, they look good but they aren't that easy to swap as there are differences to models and ages of car.

Just for everyone's information, the tamper dot can be removed by changing the VIN (and mileage) to FF bytes in the EEPROM and then programmed as an 'Virgin' module.

It will require a BDM (on board chip) programmer and bmw standard tools / ISTA p

35 delivered is a good price for this kombi in my opinion.

you don't need program anything, mileage stored in main ecu not the dashpod (vag cars) .

Thats correct and a technique which is used by ..... people to reduce the miles on their cars.

A sensible person would get LEDs changed then buying this odometer and shelling money out to do what you have mentioned.

You don't need to program it but as makkan says, you will get a tamper dot. So for a proper retrofit you do need to program it. Mileage is stored in more than 1 module for BMW.

makkan,

Mileage mismatch with will still give a tamper dot, no?
