It should be an extra charge. Why would you think they'd just throw in an option like this when we were worried to death about the starting price of this car. The DCT is not cheap to put it. It's not an "automatic" as you all know. The goal was likely to keep the base price down. And people seem to forget at least BMW gives you an option for a manual. The only other brand that I can think that at this level offers a manual is Porsche. They charge for every little option in the damn car. We are not being nickel and dimed. If you've been shopping around over the past year, driven the comparable cars, and priced well equipped cars, I am a very happy buyer.
