There's a "trap door" in the plastic underbody pan that you have to open/remove to access the drain plug, so I don't see any way that you could determine this without getting underneath the car. The only other thing that I can think of is to call your SA and give him your VIN and he may be able to tell that way.

EDIT: After doing a recent oil change I came back to this thread for the torque specs. I realized that there is no "trap door" on the F8x M3/M4. I must have been thinking of my wife's previous 335is Coupe.
