The tabs on the inside of the M5 tips are what makes them fit.....no one is doubting the M8 tips are bigger....however, it matters if the M8 tips are held on the same and whether they have tabs inside to make them fit smaller pipes and how big those tabs are.
Obviously, if the M8 tips are welded to the pipes...it's not even worth it.
