I spent a week in SF the other week and that worked beautfully. Uber offers "Uberpool" in the SF, and costs only $5 for up to two passengers to anywhere in SF. I used that in San Fran and it was very useful. Uber in San Fran is great.
Drive the M3 up there. The car is made to be driven and looks good. When I was up there a few weeks ago I saw a few F80/82 driving around town.
