A new RS6 Avant is coming in 2025 so BMW probably wanted to beat them too the punch but I still don't understand the numbers. This quote came directly from Car & Driver, "A BMW spokesman revealed to Car and Driver that less than 1 percent (or fewer than 500 units) of the 3-series models it sold here last year were Sports Wagon or slant-backed Gran Turismo versions." I doubt it's much different for the 5 or Audi models.

I know Audi wanted to do something different with the RS6, but it still doesn't make sense in the US not to offer a sedan. It least BMW also has an M5 Sedan. I know Audi has an RS7, but it's significantly more expensive and the only difference in the 6 vs 7 is an odd shaped C-Pillar that makes it kinda ugly.
