Li ion is the future. Soon the majority of cars will be using these kinds of batteries. They are supposed to last longer and are lighter than common lead acid batteries. It's a good thing that BMW is starting to use these. I'd have liked to have seen them in the E90 M3's. I guess they weren't quite ready until now.
