Check out this guys review of zaino. i realize some people love it but these stories always scare me away.

That guy was an idiot. All the stuff he used prior was cheap crap you buy at your local Wal-Mart or Pep Boys. The fact that all the people there are talking about the use of cleaner waxes leads me to believe they know absolutely nothing about high-end detailing. Second, the scratches he described seeing after the Zaino were a result of his poor cleaning habits and not knowing his product. It is a well known fact back in those days that Zaino did not offer any paint correction type products. It was simply a top coat. Any scratch removal had to be done with other products prior to the application of Zaino or the Zaino would magnify it. Now they do have something that offer some corrective properties but it is still a separate product. There is no one step product that will do both paint correction and top coat protection and result in the type of finish he was expecting. You gotta put in the effort to expect that kind of results.

My typical routine is wash, Menzerna PO85rd polish for minor paint correction, then two coats of Menzerna FMJ for top coat. If I find that I need something with more corrective properties, I add in other steps before the 85rd. I only clay when I feel its absolutely necessary which is maybe once a year. I do this regular routine about 4 times a year. Of course, I try to do weekly washes which is followed by a wipe down with a quick detailer. I use Prima Slick as my quick detailer. The Prima line is also a good one to check out for relatively cheap products that give good results.

Check out this place for some good products too. If you have any questions you can either call them or email. The owner is very helpful. Check out the forum on the website too for more opinions on products.

Oh. The previous recommendation of P21S is also very good but it's also carnauba based so it doesn't last long. I think that one is known to last about a month or so before another application is required. So you'll have to decide what your priority is. Ultimate shine or longevity. If its shine, go with a carnauba based product. If it's longevity, go with a synthetic.
