I know what you mean about the wheel choice. I guess my thinking was prior experience of 18" RFT 's on my 1 series and how they really crashed and bumped over every pothole. Also the cost to replace 18's as well.
I'm currently on winter 17" RFT's on my 1'er and they seem to have compensated for a lot of the harsh ride. I'm doing high miles too so there's always the cost of replacing a set of 18's at least once a year!
I'll see how it goes and will probably go to non-RFT's after the first set wear out.............. I was also hoping my current winter alloy's would simply swap across. Chances are they won't apparently but there's a deal to be done there still.
