So? Chances are it's just fine. It's not an actual core function of the car, it's only a diagnostic tool to confirm something is working properly. If it's safety or emissions related, then it has to be recalled immediately and can't be sold, thus the recall and sale hold. Thus, yes it's a big deal to BMW at a corporate level, (and to people who were affected by the sales hold). It's not safety related and won't leave me stranded somewhere, so it's not a big deal to me, so I'm not going to go out of my way, taking time out of my life to make a special trip to the dealer just for this. They can take care of it he next time it's in for scheduled service.
