I had a '78 VW Scirocco that burned oil every 500 miles...VW said it was "normal"...so I traded it in for my tire eating Toyota Tercel that looked like a Peugeot until I traded that in for a 213K mile/12-year affair with my old '82 Honda Accord hatchback...prior to the 335i.
I put about 3 quarts of oil over 56K miles on my e90 335i, especially after a BMWCCA run with club members...(Skyline, Pie Run) when putting much stress on tranny and engine trying to keep up with the M3s...LOL!
