Actually I think
your comment doesn't hold a lot of weight. I did many launches of my (auto) 535d at the drag strip and two driver controlled factors - how many revs I'd dial in whilst holding it on the brake, and my choice of DTC on or off or TC totally disabled, made a significant difference to the launch. Getting maximum power and minimum slip relies on more than just assuming the "idiot box" will sort out everything for you.
