I always had nitrogen in mine tires here are the reasons why.

The atom of nitrogen is a little bit bigger the oxygen, so air escapes from a tire 1.6 times faster than nitrogen.
Nitrogen also helps stabilize tire pressure that is caused by heat ( outside temperature or tracking the car ) normal air has water vapor that expends in heat, Nitrogen doesn't!
Which also helps on tire wear and gas mileage

Water vapor also can cause corrosion on steam valve or tire pressure monitor

To maximize the benefits of your nitrogen fill-up, you'll want to fill and bleed the tires several times to purge as much air as possible.
You want to maintain 93-95% nitrogen
Nitrogen in some areas can be expensive

No matter winter or summer, there is a great benefit in nitrogen as I stated above but, it will cost you a penny or two

Hope this helps
