Mine are quiet but i do like to lean on the brakes quite hard.
winter time can be a problem time for brakes as in bad weather the brakes are used less hard and the pads can glaze also the brake deposit film tends to wear off.
Keeping an even brake pad deposit film on the disks makes quite a difference to how well the brakes work.
