Possibly. I have noticed summer tires in general tend to pick up more nails. Maybe there's something about the PSS tread pattern that helps pick them up while the stickier summer compound helps grab them in the first place.
My worst and most ironic flat was from running over a Stanley wonder bar, which is usually used to pull out nails.
