yes u can get a refurbished one for $260. but my system only been out of the box for about 1 month and used for ~ 10 hours. it just sits around. a refurbished ps3 could mean they just replaced the case so it looks mint and gave it some new wires. possibly a new blue ray drive. it could even mean it was a broken unit that was sent back and sony put in new parts to make it work. and mine still has ~11 months worth of warranty.
