Wouldn't buy a watch solely off the warranty. You most likely won't need it. If you're carful, you could easily go over 5 years without servicing.

Nice watches can pick up value over time. Some Panerai pieces are limited runs, might appreciate a tad bit over the years.

Use chrono24 or Jomashop for pricing.
Not too bad then, as the first service on both my TAG Monaco and Silverstone was around $450. Add $100 for polish of case and $50 for buckle. With Panerai i belive polishing is included in the service. So comparable really.
