I bought one on sale for $188 plus $22 shipping earlier this year after doing my first oil change at 30k miles (18 CPO bought with 24k). Pretty messy so I bought the cap after that. Just installed it today at 36k miles. Next change will hopefully be less messy.
The only trick with the install is to pry the filter receiver out of the stock cap and press it into the Weistec cap. Note that the labeled end if the filter faces down — into the cap.
Maybe I will remember to post again at 42k miles after I see whether the cap drain plug helps reduce the mess. Probably about that time I will also change the other fluids — trans, front and rear diffs, brake, power steering, coolant. CPO might cover it but I prefer to keep my car out of the dealer’s hands unless I have no other option.
