I change at 7000 miles max, or less if condition based service calls for it, using genuine BMW 0W-30. Do it myself and costs about $120 bucks for oil and mahle filter with supplied crush washer and oil filter housing gaskets.
I have the quick jacks and love them for efficiency. Make sure you get the 6000 ELX model, because all other models of theirs won't reach the jack points, which are crazy far apart for a vehicle of its size. Even the smaller models with the extensions won't work on the M5.
