I have a lift so my drain is a rolling 4 gallon container with an adjustable stem and round drain basin at the top. It’s not that big. I do have a larger pan I can put on top to extend it if I am dropping a transmission pan but don’t use that for oil changes.
I’d buy another cap insert because it might stay in place. Could have loosened the original up when removing it from the factory cap. And it may have loosened up with age and heat - 4 years and 40k miles. Or it may be that a new one won’t stay in place in the Weistec cap either.
