I have the Weistec also. I drain the pan first and once the drain stream is small, I open the filter housing drain. My drain pan is big enough to cover both holes if the drain streams are small. The Weistec or new BMW design housing definitely helps reduce the mess. I have virtually no cleanup compared to before. The spring loaded assembly that goes in the bottom of the filter cap is detaching from the cap and staying in the filter so I pull it out and pop it back into place in the cap. I may order a new one if it is available separately. It never popped out of the stock cap when removing the filter, at least until I purposely popped it out to transfer it over to the Weistec.
