To reaffirm the above post, the break-in does not have to be religiously observed. Going over 4,500rpm or 105mph is fine a few times, the first is almost impossible not to do. See the procedure as a guideline rather than a hard and fast rule and avoid beating on the car (sliding, WOT, slamming on the brakes) until after your 1,200 mile service.

In fact, and not to further worry the OCD, M says that after the first service increasing the load on the car should be gradual until 2,500 miles iirc. Good luck with that

One last point, people (see post 2) who lease these cars are the reason why I avoid second hand high performance vehicles. In too many instances they are beat on from day one.
