That was my understanding.
However, the OP hadn't alluded to any opf /limp mode issues.
Also on another forum (MR on m3cutters) had alluded to the slip on (remus akra etc.) and muffler deletes were the only options if you didn't want to tune ECU and or touch the OPFs.
