You most likely have a color that bmw tested and hence isn't really considered individual even though they call it that. (Frozen Bluestone, marina bay blue, etc) a true individual color say purple, voodoo, Verde mantis, etc will have the function decoded from the factory and your order sheet will say 8tr additional functions decoded. |
It's pretty nuts that that is even the case. When someone made the reference to the color being the cause earlier in the thread, I was convinced it was sarcasm. I understand why now that you guys have explained it, and it certainly makes sense from an engineering perspective. But if you didn't know all that, it really sounds like a joke for such a highly engineered car.
