You now have an oil of the wrong viscosity in your rear differential, ie. the G2 type. That is an 80W90 weight oil. So go ahead and use your launch control, have fun.

The rear diff oil (SAF-XJ) is 75w140 for the M5 (part number 83-22-2-357-992). You can buy the Casterol brand everywhere.
