I think it is likely, but who cares, really? Did you buy your M235 as an investment? Not likely, as cars are usually a shitty investment. You bought it to drive and enjoy, so drive it, enjoy it, and let its value be what it is!
I actually think the car that will take the biggest value hit when the M2 comes out is the 1M. Yes, it was a very special limited-production now-collector's car, but part of the appeal of the 1M is that there is nothing else in the BMW stable, nor has there been since the E46 M3 that is anywhere close as far as sporting character and performance in a small package. The M2 will fill the same niche, so the 1Ms floating around will not be the only player in that division.
