It is very obvious why various people and reviewers.done notice much difference between the M550, M5, M5C. The difference is only above 4800 and 5700 rpm.
The indicated oil change interval has been slowly dropping. It makes me feel better. My wife's X5 went from 10k to 11 to 12k over the last 3 changes. I'm also the person who change my wife's E90 N54 oil at 16k miles every time for 140k miles since that's what the computer said.
