You're right. If I'd looked more closely it's not the same arm! To get a look at the tension strut I think you have to remove the lower panel, or the whole inner fender. The mounting point for the tension strut will be toward the front of the car from the picture you took, Shawn. Your picture is of what BMW calls the wishbone according to a suspension diagram.
Sorry I got the wrong arm. I'll have a look when I have her up switching tires. But have to remove fender lining to see it?
