As for the noise i talked to the master mechanic while he was doing the swap a few times. He believed it couldve just been the valves as the noise as just from a cold start. But bmw wanted them to ship the engine back immediately to do testing.

How did you get on with the dealer getting you a new car, i should find out today the outcome of mine, any info would be great on replacing the car, always best to reference a successful case
