These gauges are definitely more accurate than the pencil-type.
Finally, the hold valve allows you to remove the gauge from the tire valve, yet the reading does not go away / reset to zero. The reading is held on the gauge face.

Finally managed to buy a joes racing tire gauge, basic analog one. I checked my tires and there's a difference of 2 psi between Joes (lower) and my digital talking pencil type gauge... Jeez have I been running all those years on my previous BMWs with the wrong pressure?

So do I blindly trust the Joes racing gauge and set the tire pressure at 32psi while the digital pencil one shows 34psi?
Well it *is* a racing gauge. And racers depend on very small, tight tolerances and PSI measurements.
For the street I don't think it matters much, but I trust my Joes gauge.
