It just seems to me both run do millions of things per second if there is any difference between them it would be in the scaling formula for how boost is added between how each company wants cars with their tuner to drive.

Look up the speed of the above processor. Also, look up the various applications that uses the M3.
DME is only reading, roughly, a 0/5V.
