I buy a car every year to two, but this M5 is the first one I'm commiting to have over a year. In my case, since I was swapping cars so frequently, it really didn't matter if I had a lease or not. That hat being said, if you plan to keep over 3 years, then financing or buying outright might be better. If you plan to keep a car for no more than 2-3 years, leasing is the way. If you plan to keep 1 year, then it really doesn't matter.
