We just do not have enough information about the real culprit of that particular EDC failure. It could have been an EDC failure exclusive from the H&R's, could have been an installation problem (the EDC connector plugs were not pushed in enough/firmly since the very beginning and months of vibration took its toll) or in fact the H&R springs messed up the shocks.
