well when i took my 325i in for service at abut 25000 miles, they only changed my brake pads, but not rotors. it clearly needed rotors because they had a huge lip from wear, and they were really rusty, but the dealer told me that they were just "fine". i eneded up taking it to a friend's shop and he grinded the surface so they were like new again...
