I think I'm going to try autox next weekend. I like that it's fairly cheap (~$40) and that I can go with my best friend who doesn't have a track car, but can still go out there, toss around the family Subaru and have fun.
It funny I took my Dad with me to a BMW CCA performance driving school at the track a few weeks back, in his Lotus Elise, and he had a blast. However said he didn't like beating up on his $50K Lotus like that so he just went out and bought a used Miata "Mazdaspeed" for about $15K today that he plans to use exclusively as a track car. Once he gets it ready I'm going to go out there with him in it and see how it feels. If I like it I might consider picking one up myself. Like him, I'd much rather ram a $15K Miata into the wall then my $48K BMW.
