I think the Saudi track should be interesting and a good test for following in the new cars. Pretty certain that is what caught Mick last season, following close and pushing in that corner where the Ferrari spun prior that weekend.

Because all of the changes over the years (hybrid engines, halo, reinforcing of the front nose, larger wheels, etc) add weight to the car. At that point, teams have to start adding performance parts/aero/etc which tacks on more weight. The latter needs to be accounted for by using minimum weight requirements.
