Even the M2CS is heavy relative to its size.

IMO the HP wars are way over done now and it has degenerated into bragging rights instead of improved driving dynamics.

If one of the major manufacturers shifts focus to truly reducing weight with current HP levels they are going to dominate the market. Think of a G80 M3CS weighing less than 3500 lbs or an M5CS under 4000 lbs. Build in the idea of a CS model from the start of the engineering process and it should be achievable. Remove comfort access, power trunks, simplify door panels, add carbon hood/trunk, carbon buckets, etc and it is not really that far off. Would be an incredible halo car for each series and bring the true enthusiasts back into the fold.
