AFAIK, the new BMW diesels don't have glow plugs. It used to be the case when the engine was cold that there would be a little 'coil' light in the dash. When that went out you could start the diesel. I haven't noticed anything like that on my 320d and theres no mention in the manual. I just get in and start. Don't know why there aren't glowplugs. Technological advancements?
